YMCA WA is pleased to announce the appointment of 40under40 award recipient Justin Eve as the organisation’s new President following the retirement of Brad Wylynko in October.

Since moving from Melbourne to Perth as a new Partner at PwC in 2009, Justin has overseen the more than doubling of the Risk Assurance practice, and is now also PwC’s WA Energy & Mining industry leader.

Whilst having a busy day job, Justin also dedicates himself to the former commitment of being a YMCA WA Board Member for the past three and half years and now the new role as President.

“I feel very proud to be the new President of YMCA WA; we’ve got so many amazing staff and volunteers who do incredible things right across Western Australia,” Justin said.
“With the great history that is the YMCA I feel a sense of pride but also responsibility to play the role of the President in supporting the Executive team and also in providing some guidance as we seek to fulfil our 10 year strategy, which is very exciting.”

With the recent launch of YMCA’s new belief statement; we believe in the power of inspired young people, combined with the Y’s passion to helping people grow in body, mind and spirit, these factors were what drove Justin to want to be part of the organisation.

“I’ve always been very aligned to the values of the YMCA – from growing up in a small country town in Victoria attending the Y rec centres - but it wasn’t until the Western Australia awards night that I just knew taking on the President role was the right thing.

“It was when I heard those incredible stories that so many of our people are doing and the impact they’re having on the participants we help in the community, and the whole belief statement around believing in the power of inspired youth – it’s something I’ve always been passionate about and in fact talk about in my own work environment,” Justin said.

In 2017 the Y can look forward to Justin working towards creating greater awareness with our stakeholders and the communities in which we work about the work we do.

“While branding the Y is important, it’s also about more people understanding our purpose and seeing and hearing about what we do day in day out,” Justin said.
